Eight Tips To Ensure Wellness During Coronavirus Outbreak
Carolyn W. Quist, DO, PA and Revitalize Wellness Center, PA are closely following the most up-to-date announcements and information on the known cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Because this information is always changing, we will be monitoring all updates from the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control. Dr. Quist has compiled a list of wellness tips as a guide to help keep patients well.
Eight Tips to Stay Healthy and Avoid Spreading the Virus
1. Manage Your Medications
First of all, don’t run out of your medications. Contact your doctor’s office NOW if you are going to run out before your next appointment.
2. Keep Elderly Family Members Healthy
Avoid going to see your elderly parents or grandparents unless absolutely necessary. You can support them with frequent calls, facetime or emails.
3. Consume Fresh Fruits and Veggies
For immune support – In general, the higher your antioxidant status, the better. This means fresh fruit and veggies. More, more, more. Be aware of the high glycemic load of high dose fruit juice. Don’t do that. The original fruit (not juice) is best. Organic is even better.
4. Take Vitamins
Make sure you are taking plenty of Vitamin D. I recommend either 5,000 IU of D3 daily with Vitamin A and K2, or Vitamin D3 50,000 IU twice weekly. Remember to take with a fatty food.
5. Take Vitamin C Daily
Vitamin C 1000 mg twice a day
6. Get Plenty of Rest
Adrenal support helps you handle the stress of everything we are going through. If your body is tired and sleepy, get extra sleep. Listen to your body. If needed, take Adrenal supplements as they may offer some help and prevent adrenal fatigue.
7. Monitor Your Diet
Eat organic. Avoid fast food, processed food, fried foods, starchy foods and things that spike glucose levels. Eat plenty of protein, fresh fruits and vegetables.
8. Practice Good Hygiene
Wash your hands frequently. Do not touch your face.
